Your Journey
For your protection and that of any child, we will need certain blood test results before we offer you treatment. Prospective parents must have a negative result for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV. We must also have evidence that the prospective mother is immune to rubella, as well as her sickle cell anaemia and Thalassaemia status for those in high-risk groups. Prospective mothers (and fathers who might need any surgical procedure) with a BMI (body mass index) of over 30 should try to reduce this figure before starting treatment; please call us if you are unsure about your BMI.
