My name is Linda Koncewicz and I have worked as a counsellor at Bourn Hall for many years. I am a trained nurse and midwife and also lecture in oncology at Anglia Ruskin University. My prime areas of interest are in reproductive medicine and oncology and I'm lucky enough to be able to combine both of these with counselling. My background is in psychodynamic counselling in which I completed a three year training course.
Counselling is available, free of charge, to Bourn Hall Clinic patients. People request counselling for a number of reasons; they may want to discuss the implications of treatment such as using donated eggs or sperm or they may need support during or after treatment. Counselling offers an objective, non-judgemental and confidential environment in which to do this.

My training in Counselling began in 1993. At University I had read Philosophy and Psychology, and the progression of my career into counselling at a mature stage in my life appeared logical and natural. As a Counsellor, my practice includes humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy. These theories, together with my experience of having lived on different continents, help me to relate and connect with clients from different backgrounds.
I believe that the integrative approach I adopt, together with the confidentiality and genuineness of counselling, help in the difficult process that each patient goes through in the treatment of infertility . I am happy to see those seeking Assisted Conception as individuals or as couples, either at Bourn Hall Clinic, or at my own premises near Ely.
In January 2009 I became an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy - MBACP(Accred). Since then, my special interest has been in infertility counselling, and in August 2011 I became an Accredited Member of the British Infertility Counselling Association (AMBICA).

Counsellor
My name is Jackie Stewart and I am a Counsellor working for Bourn Hall. As a fully accredited independent counsellor I have a private practice and also provide supervision for other counsellors. I am a Full Member of the UKAHPP and I am registered with the UKCP, UKRC and BICA.
As an ex-patient of Bourn Hall I have personal experience of infertility and an empathic understanding of some of the feelings and issues involved in treatment.
My previous work experience included running my own business and working as an account executive for a large blue chip company.

Our counsellors will be there for you at your convenience and when you need support at any stage of your journey with us.
Sometimes, the advice we'll offer following the initial consultation
may not be what you hoped to hear. Putting you through the emotional
and financial expense of IVF when the odds are too highly stacked against
you is not something we advocate. In these situations we are committed
to offering support and counselling. Should fertility treatments fail,
we'll be there to support you and guide you on the next course of action.

Patient Support Group
Our Support groups are led by independent fertility counsellors, Jackie Stewart, Linda Koncewicz and Fiona Wallington, and organised in response to patient demand. Evening meetings are held at our clinics between 7.30-9.00pm, providing the opportunity to talk to others who are experiencing infertility, supporting each other on this emotional roller coaster journey. We also invite expert speakers in a range of topics to attend support group meetings in response to patients needs. Our counsellors can also refer you on to other support organisations specific to your needs at any time during your fertility journey with us and beyond.
