Louise Quarmby (1989)
WHEN Liz Quarmby got married she had no idea she was suffering from a condition that would leave her infertile.
After two years of trying, tests at the local hospital showed Liz was suffering from endometriosis, where the lining of the womb grows elsewhere in the pelvis. The resulting internal bleeding, has no outlet, causes pain and scarring.
"It was a real shock," said Liz.
"I was only in my early 20s.
"At that age you assume you're fit and healthy and that everything's fine.
Liz fell pregnant on the second attempt. "I can remember clearly the phone call from Bourn Hall saying my blood test result was positive," she said.
"It was amazing."
"I'm so glad we went and did it," she said. "We got our daughter Louise and I'm also really glad to have been through the experience.
Daughter Louise, 19, said: "I've always known that I'm an IVF baby.
"It does make me feel special.
"It makes me feel bad when I argue with my parents after everything they went through to have me."
