Bourn Hall Clinic

About Us

Sarah Pallet, Clinic Manager and IVF Patients at Colchester Bourn Hall Clinic was founded by the pioneers of IVF, Mr Patrick Steptoe and Professor Robert Edwards, who shared a dream to help couples with difficulties conceiving have a family of their own. Bourn Hall Clinic in Cambridgeshire was established as the first IVF clinic following the birth of the world's first 'test tube baby', Louise Brown, in 1978.

In 2009 Bourn Hall acquired the former Isis Fertility Centre based in Colchester. This smaller more intimate clinic already had an excellent reputation for providing a wide range of fertility treatments with a highly personalised approach and first class patient care. In becoming part of the Bourn Hall family the Colchester clinic joins the only organisation in the world with more than 30 years IVF experience – pioneers in treatment, experts in care.

This pride of being part of the team that cared enough to be first means they have a deeply felt duty of care to ensure that you receive the honesty, passion and expert teamwork that you deserve by doing their utmost to help make your dreams of a successful outcome come true.

Kerry Cole is proud mum of Megan who is 10 months old. She says:

Staff at the clinic are lovely, very supportive and friendly. Fertility treatment can feel quite traumatic at times and you need that support to help get you through.

One of the many things I appreciated is they were always very helpful with any queries you might have and would always phone you back. One night I got a call at 7 o'clock at night from a nurse. She had been busy all day but didn't want to go home until she had returned every call.
